Determined to divide!

Determined to divide!

The devil is good at what he does. And one of the things he is most determined to do is to cause division in the Body of Christ. The devil’s sole intent is to divide and conquer for the purpose of bringing destruction to Christ’s Church. If this master of deception can create descension among the people of God and can move them to fight against and attack each other, then that makes his job of spreading turmoil and chaos among the saints much easier to accomplish.

Even though we may be members of various Christian denominations, it should be our focus and desire to uplift one another and work together as brothers and sisters in Christ in spreading the good news of the Gospel. This may not entail us worshiping as one or being in complete unity of Doctrine. Yet, it can move us to be respectful of the ministry we are each carrying out in Jesus’ name and supportive of the battle we are each wagering against the archenemy of us all who is Satan.

We are members of one body whose head is Jesus Christ. It is in Him and through Him that we live and move and have our being. The Apostle Paul tells the believers in Corinth, “But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together, if one member is honored, all rejoice together” We are stronger when we work towards the same goal of going into all the world baptizing and making disciples of all nations in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that He has commanded us.

The devil may be determined and set on dividing the people of God and Christ’s Church, but Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Let us unite as the army of God knowing Jesus is the Commander in Chief, in whom we already have already secured the victory. Pastor McCarty
