I am a valued treasure!
Yesterday in worship we celebrated Life Sunday. What joy there is in singing, praying, and thanking the Lord God Almighty, in our worship setting, for the wonderful gift of life. We have been created in His image and it was He who breathed the very breathe of life into each one of us. Not only did God create you and me but He also saved us, and gave us the gift of eternal life, through the loving and sacrificial work of our Savior Jesus. And then it is He alone who sustains us and provides for all our daily needs of both body and soul. It is so easy to take life for granted and to go through each day not even given glory and honor to our glorious Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier!
One of the ways we can glorify the Lord is to be defenders of life. In today's day and age, especially here in the United States, there is a battle going on for the defense of the sanctity of human life. Suicides are on the rise! Abortion and the protection of the unborn is a very hot topic within our present American society. Physician assisted suicides are being portrayed as acts of compassion, instead of the taking of a life. Euthanasia is a means to weed out those individuals deemed unacceptable and of no benefit, as assessed by our societies twisted mentality.
We have value as human beings not because of what the world thinks or believes. We have great value because God made us, Jesus died for us, and the Holy Spirit lives within us. Never forget this very important message: You and I are extremely valued treasures of the Lord. Don't ever let anyone make you feel any different than that!!!!!! Pastor McCarty
