Faithful soldiers!
Recently we celebrated the national holiday that honors our Veteran’s who served in the Armed Forces of our country. This is a special day to be recognized and celebrated as we thank those individuals who faithfully gave their service to defend the freedoms within our country and other nations around the world. What can be said that could be enough to show our gratitude for the sacrifices which were made by these soldiers. Thank you and God bless you and your families!!!
As Christians we are also soldiers, but in a much different context. We are those who are serving in the Lord’s Army. In our Baptism we were joined to the family of God and have been in a sense commissioned to be in faithful service to Him. Our main purpose should be to glorify God and serve Him in all we say and do. God has given us the weapons we need to not only defend ourselves from the Lord’s and our nemesis, the devil, but we have the weaponry we need to be in an all-out attack on the gates of hell! In fact, by faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the gates of hell cannot prevail against such a mighty force. Besides all that dear fellow soldiers, Jesus has already won the war, and we are given the honor to fight the ongoing earthly battles in His name till He calls us home.
Come Christian soldiers where our Captain trod, our King victorious, Christ, the Son of God.
All newborn soldiers of the Crucified, Bear on their brows the seal of him who died.
So shall our song of triumph ever be: Praise to the Crucified for victory! Lift High the Cross vs. 1, 3, 6. Pastor McCarty
