Praise the Lord!

Updated: Jan 19, 2022

Praise the Lord all the earth!

In today’s day and age, it is so easy for you and me to take life for granted. We get up in the morning like we always do and then head off to work, the gym, or whatever activities we have planned for the day. As we are going through the daily regimen of our various schedules our minds are generally focused on those tasks, assignments, or responsibilities, we need to take care of that are at hand. Many times, you and me, find ourselves merely going through the motions, with very little thought about what we are actually doing. It is called operating in auto mode.

Instead of being in a mindset such as this, what we really need to do, especially as people of God, is to take some time to seriously look at our life and take note of the many blessings the Lord has provided each one of us with. Yes, we need to stop, just sit back for a moment, and think about all the wonderful ways the Lord has looked after us throughout our lives. The most important thing He did for us was to send Jesus, into our sin-filled world, to be our amazing, Redeemer, Savior, and friend. No greater blessing and gift could have ever been given to you and me. And the unbelievable aspect of it all is the very fact that we did not have to do one single thing to get it. It came to us only because of the great love and grace of Almighty God!

Dear friends in the faith, I truly believe if we can focus on the Lord more each day, then on ourselves, we can begin to fully appreciate the goodness and glory of the Lord and give Him the praise and notoriety He deserves.

David, a man after God’s own heart, did begin to see the wonder of the Lord, and he wrote about it in the Psalms. Here are his words of adoration in Psalm 100:

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Praise the Lord all the earth, praise His holy name!
