Secrecy or sharing?
Jesus commanded us, “Go into all the world baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them all I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
Jesus’ intention is for us, as His disciples (followers), to reach out to the ends of the earth baptizing and teaching in the name of our Triune God. Also, His desire is for us to share the saving message of the Gospel which is centered in Him and Him alone. Nowhere do we see where the Lord tells us to keep this wonderful message to ourselves like it is some kind of a hidden secret that is only designed to be shared with a select few people. God, in His love for all mankind sent Jesus into this world, to be born in the flesh, to give His life for the lives of all humanity.
Knowing Jesus, as your and my Lord and Savior, is a blessing we have been given by the grace of God through faith. What a wonderful gift we have in our possession to share with others on this globe called earth. We have not been given this great gift to hide it away for our own benefit. And the Lord has not called us to a vow of secrecy concerning the Gospel. So, let us not be silent when we are placed in the position to proclaim the message of salvation in Christ Jesus.
Dear saints, there are many things we are told by others to keep a secret, but I can confidently guarantee that the Good News, we live in hope with as Christians, is not one of them. Pastor McCarty
