Truth truly does matter!

As Christians we believe that the Word of God is the center of truth. God is the author and provider of His Holy Word to this world and those He has created in His image. It is the guidebook by which mankind should be setting its course for the moment and into the future. Why is it vital this should be taking place? God is omniscient (all-knowing) and He can see the big picture and the truth of what is happening within His creation, and He knows what the ultimate outcome will be if we do not follow what is true and we stay on a trajectory guided by lies!

There are billions of people in our world who do not consider the Bible to be the true Word of God, and the TRUTH! And sadly, there are many Christians, who do believe God’s Word is true, yet they allow themselves to be deceived by the lies which are being promoted by our world, and even closer to home, our American culture. Today, it seems as if whatever a person wants to believe is true, is in their mindset the grounds for the establishment of truth, whether or not it is the reality of the situation. And even more disturbing about this scenario is the idea no one should be able to challenge another individual about their understanding of what is true or false.

Truth truly does matter friends in Christ, especially when it comes to our salvation. Jesus, when He was in this world said, “I am the Truth”. He also told Pilate, “I have come into the world to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” John 18:37b And in John 8:31-32, the Master declares this teaching, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

Again, in John 16:12-13, we hear these profound words from the Teacher to His disciples, “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.”

Dear fellow saints these words, spoken by the Lord Jesus, are as relevant to you and me today as they were to the believers in the first century. Yes, the truth truly does matter because there is only one way to be saved, only one message for you and me to believe in and proclaim to mankind, and only one person to place our faith in, Jesus Christ! Any other teaching is false and will only lead to eternal damnation. And let us never forget that the Bible is the true Word of God, because it is the precious story of God’s love for us and His plan for our salvation which is centered in Jesus, from the first chapter of Genesis to the last chapter of Revelation. No greater truth has ever been given for humanity to believe and trust in, to do anything else carries with it eternal consequences, and that is unequivocally the TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!! Pastor McCarty
